Dr. Frank Farley has been honored by the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA) with its highest award for public contributors to psychology, the “Psychology in the Media Award.” His contributions as a public intellectual cover all forms of media including television, radio, newspapers, magazines, blogs and Internet sites. Recent contributions, with the average usually over 100 per year, include NBC, Today.com, Boston Globe, USA Today, many radio stations, on a range of topics such as cognitive science, motivation, crime and violence, terrorism, his work on risk-taking and thrill-seeking, and diagnostic science. PPA is one of the largest state psychological associations in the U.S. Frank is a previous recipient (2011) of psychology’s highest national award in media psychology, the Division 46 “Award for Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Media Psychology.”
