Publication & Submission Guidelines

The Amplifier is a magazine of the Society for Media Psychology and Technology, Division 46 of the American Psychological Association.  The Society is a membership organization that seeks to advance psychology in the practice and science of media communications and technology. The society is a community of researchers, psychologists and other mental health providers, consultants, educators and communications professionals actively involved with all forms of traditional and evolving media and emerging technologies. The society supports the study and dissemination of information related to the impact of the media on human behavior, as well as the development of media literacy essential to the public and profession.  

Published Two Times Annually

The Amplifier Magazine is the official magazine of the Society for Media Psychology and Technology, Division 46 of the American Psychological Association, and is published twice a year (Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter)

Unsolicited Contributions From Members Encouraged

Articles must be relevant to media psychology and technology and should not have been published elsewhere. All submissions should be sent to the Editor, Perry Reed, PhD (perryreed@email.fielding.edu).

Submission Deadlines:

  • No later than April 1st for Spring/Summer issue
  • No later than October 1st for the Fall/Winter issue

Authors should ensure that their manuscripts comply with all APA publication and ethical guidelines.
