Society for Media Psychology and Technology: Awardees for 2025
Paul Wright, PhD
Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Media Psychology and Technology
This award is given for a sustained body of work that has had a major impact on the public and the profession of media psychology and technology.
Jon Haidt, PhD
Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Media Psychology and Technology
This award recognizes outstanding scientific contributions to the field of media psychology and technology. This award usually alternates annually with the Professional Contributions Award, but may be given simultaneously in a year.
Vanessa Volpe, PhD
Distinguished Early Career Professional Contributions to Media Psychology and Technology
This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of media psychology and technology during the first 10 years post-doctorate.
Josh Cohen, PhD
Student Dissertation in Media Psychology and Technology
This award is for outstanding dissertation research related to any form of media or technology.
The quantity and quality of the products of these awardees, as well as those of the other nominees, provides ample evidence that the future of our society and discipline will be exciting, productive, and impactful, both within psychology and more broadly for society.
