Past President, Society for Media Psychology & Technology
optimalex@aol.com
In this column, as Past President, I have several announcements.
First, I want to remind Students about the free membership in the Society! Don’t hesitate to contact me or APA if you have questions about it.
Next, I want to remind readers to consider Division 46 when making your estate plans. I recently included Division 46 in my Estate Planning and the process is easy. I am happy to assist anyone considering such a donation.
Finally, as chair of the Awards Committee, I provide details below on the timeframe and specifications for receipt of nominations.
Savor the summer! Sunrise here in Juneau today was at 3:55 AM and sunset at 9:58 PM. Enough daylight to get stuff done!
Division 46 Awards
On behalf of the 2025 awards committee, Kristian Alomá (President), myself (Past-President), and our President-elect, Larry Drake, I’m pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for people who have made outstanding contributions to our discipline. Award recipients will receive their awards at a ceremony during the annual national APA convention in August, in Denver. Please feel free to nominate someone you believe deserves recognition for their work. Self-nominations are also welcome.
Note: All awardees will be asked to write an article about their work for our Society’s The Amplifier Magazine. Awardees may also be invited to participate in a division hosted webinar to discuss their work.
For a nomination to be accepted, include a nomination letter, the nominee’s CV, and any supporting documents (e.g., a copy of their dissertation for the “Student Dissertation” award). Below find a listing of the award categories and descriptions:
